Healthy Body and A Clean House – All With This Same Ray Of Sunshine

Lemons? Yep, you guessed it. With essential oils being all the rage these days, I find myself packing my bottle of lemon oils along in my purse to put a few drops in my restaurant water. While it is undoubtedly all the rage in today’s health-conscious generation, did you know that lemons go beyond the human health and bring your home into a healthy clean as well? There is an entire list of uses for the healthy little ball of yum. It is a natural disinfectant as well as a deodorizer, but what else can it do? Laundry:  You can boost your laundry detergent by adding one cup of lemon juice during the wash cycle.  The natural bleaching action helps brighten whites, remove stains, and leaves your clothes smelling fresh. It also helps eliminate mildew from clothes.  If when unpacking some long-stored shirts, you notice some mildew buildup, merely make a lemon juice and salt paste and scrub it on the stain.  Let it dry in the sun and repeat until the stain is removed. Tanish: Rid the tarnish from your brass, copper and steel pots with a salt and lemon scrub. Pots and pans need a good shinning? Cut a lemon in half and rub the cut side on the pan and buff dry with a terry towel. Water Spots:  Remove those stubborn water spots by rubbing a cut lemon on faucets and chrome finishings and dry thoroughly. Cutting Board: Really? Yes! Clean the cutting board by rubbing the cut side of a lemon on the board and let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse. If you have a wood board, you may choose to let the lemon juice simply absorb into the wood. Oh! Don’t waste that lemon, squeeze the rest of the lemon juice into your kitchen sink and then toss the lemon into the disposal and let it run. Shine up the sink and deodorize that disposal. Repeat once a month to keep it smelling fresh. Rid those pesky summer ants: Yes you can! Spray lemon juice into the cracks and corners where those little guys seem to be making their way inside. While its fresh and clean smelling for you and I, they are not a fan and it will keep them at bay! We hope that all of our Northern Kentucky House Cleaning Fans find this article helpful.
